Abstract

Forests contribute significantly to the absorption of CO2 and it is essential to know it in order to understand and increase forest conservation strategies, but it is necessary to increase studies of urban forest covers, which are carbon sinks for the environment that surrounds them. The objective was to review allometric models most used for the determination of carbon sequestration in line tree arrangements in urban areas. It is denoted that there is no deepening yet on urban forest cover, although mathematically it is possible to arrive at the precision of the biomass and carbon values, this has not been applied on a smaller scale, such as urban ecosystems, that is, it is necessary develop the most specific models, local equations.
