Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

Author Guidelines

The maximum number of authors per article is three. More are accepted if a sound academic and ethical justification for adding additional authors is presented.

Each author must provide a concise, professional profile of up to 50 words, their email address, and institutional affiliation. They should include their ORCID identifier, which can be obtained from the official organization's website at www.orcid.org.

Articles should be submitted in Times New Roman font, 12-point size, 1.5 line spacing, in Word format, and adhere to the most recent APA standards (currently the 7th edition). Using bibliography management tools such as Mendeley, Zotero, among others, or the online version of Word is recommended.

The article should be between 5,500 and 8,000 words, including references.

The entire article must include abstracts in Spanish, English, and Portuguese, each with a maximum of 250 words, and have up to 5 keywords separated by semicolons. For this purpose, the use of the UNESCO thesaurus is recommended. If the article contains images and graphics, they must be 300 DPI in size and JPG format with the highest resolution possible.

Reviews should not exceed 1,500 words.

All articles must strictly follow the most recent guidelines of the American Psychological Association (APA). Only references that are cited, paraphrased, or mentioned in the text should be included.

To facilitate the drafting of the text according to these standards, the Oikema Journal provides a Word template that can be downloaded here.

The maximum response time for authors is three months. Authors may republish after two years since their last publication in the Oikema Journal.

Review Process

Articles must be original. Previously published material or material under review elsewhere, even in another language other than that submitted to the Calarma Journal, is not accepted. Texts will undergo plagiarism checks and a blind review process.

The article evaluation will take place over three months from closing the call for papers (this period might vary depending on holiday schedules). Initially, a review is conducted to ensure that submitted articles meet the journal's research and thematic guidelines outlined in each call for papers. This process is followed by a blind peer-review system, ensuring anonymity for both authors and reviewers.

If members of the University of Tolima submit the articles, it is guaranteed they will be reviewed by external evaluators not affiliated with this higher education institution.

Reviewers will assess manuscripts based on their theoretical relevance, methodological clarity, and the significance of their reflections, results, conclusions, and bibliography. This process is impartial to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, nationality, political views, ethnic origin, or author nationality.

The classification system for article evaluation is as follows:

Accept this submission.

Publishable with modifications.

Resend for review.

Recommend for another publication.

Not publishable.

Once the article has been evaluated, the journal will contact the author(s) to inform them whether it has been accepted, needs modifications, or has been rejected.
