About the Journal
Calarma Journal
Calarma Journal is an international free access journal of the Faculty of Human Sciences and Arts of the University of Tolima (Colombia). Publishes, preferably, novel research on the contributions of the social and human sciences to understanding the political, economic, cultural, and social phenomena of our time, thought critically from philosophy, law, political science, sociology, communication, and the arts, among other areas of knowledge. The Calarma journal is published twice a year (digitally), in April and September of each year, and receives articles written in Spanish, English, and Portuguese.
Open access policy
Calarma is a free access publication (Open Access Journal) and does not charge for the evaluation and publication of its articles. Readers can download, share and print the text without permission from its author or publisher but by giving the respective credit.
Code of Ethics
Authors Code of Ethics
The authors are responsible for the originality of the evaluated and published work. It is worth noting that it must be unpublished and not previously published in another language than the one proposed in the Calarma Journal. Co-authors must have contributed significantly to the research and writing of the manuscript. The articles must be unpublished and have complied with the ethical precepts of research, such as the following:
Autonomy: the authors must respect the rights, values, and decisions of those participating in the research. In some cases, it is advisable to obtain a letter of informed consent from people to conduct the study.
Non-maleficence: that the research process and results do not intentionally cause harm to others.
Beneficence: consists of suppressing offenses and doing good to the people involved in the investigative process.
Justice: consists of treating people with equality, regardless of their ideological formation, sexual orientation, race, and creed.
Calarma Journal Code of Ethics
Calarma assumes a neutral position regarding published articles, whose contents are the responsibility of the authors who sign them. The journal discloses diverse, controversial, critical, and unprejudiced topics so that the academic community can debate them through different intellectual positions, methodological designs, and research objects. Once the manuscript is received, it acquires the category of confidential.
The journal guarantees transparency and professionalism in its editorial decisions. Calarma Journal supports the Code of Conduct established by the Publication Ethics Committee (http://publicationethics.org) and has a zero-tolerance policy regarding plagiarism, fraudulent publication, and scientific misconduct. All manuscripts are checked with anti-plagiarism software before they are submitted for peer review to verify the originality of all published work.
Publisher Code of Ethics
The editor is an expert and independent scholar charged with ensuring the quality of published work and maintaining the integrity of its scientific record. The editor accepts the recommendations of the scientific and editorial committees, as well as the blind peer reviewers, but has the last word on whether the material is published or not. At no time does he disclose information related to the manuscript or use any of its content on his behalf.
